Induction stove with 2 × 5 kW burners
An induction range transfers energy directly into ferromagnetic cookware by generating a high-frequency magnetic field beneath the ceramic surface. The field induces electric currents in the base of the pan, heating it instantly while the surface itself stays cool. This method eliminates wasted heat, speeds up cooking and keeps the kitchen cooler than gas or radiant electric hobs.
The ALBA I8/700 induction range is built as a freestanding worktop unit with two independent 5 kW cooking zones. To start, place a compatible pan on one of the marked zones. Turn the rotary knob to the right for power mode, where levels 1 to 9 set the magnetic field strength. Turn the knob to the left for temperature mode; the four-digit display then shows the target temperature between 70 °C and 110 °C, and the zone maintains it automatically. A residual heat indicator lights up whenever the ceramic surface is still hot enough to cause burns, even after the zone is switched off.
The hob is constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel with a 6 mm thick ceramic glass cooking surface. Three sensors beneath the glass monitor the pan and adjust the field to prevent overheating. Height-adjustable stainless steel legs and an open base allow the unit to stand level on uneven floors and permit air circulation for cooling the electronics.
Controls consist of two rotary knobs, each paired with a digital display. The left side of the knob selects power mode (1–9), the right side selects temperature mode (70–110 °C). A 400 V three-phase supply is required, which matches the standard commercial kitchen circuit and supports the 10 kW total load without overloading a single phase. The footprint of 1000 × 700 mm fits a standard worktop depth, leaving space for adjacent prep areas.
Cleaning is simplified by the smooth ceramic surface and the stainless steel body. After use, wipe the glass with a damp cloth once it has cooled; the residual heat indicator shows when it is safe. The stainless steel frame and legs can be cleaned with a non-abrasive detergent. The open base design prevents trapped food debris and allows easy access for periodic inspection of the control unit.
Optional accessories include a pot filler tap and a 230 V outlet, both factory-fitted if ordered. The range is classified under professional induction cooking equipment in the ALBA catalogue.
