Induction stove with 2 × 3.5 kW burners
An induction range transfers energy directly into ferromagnetic cookware using electromagnetic fields, eliminating the need for a traditional heating element. The ceramic surface remains cool to the touch, while the pan itself becomes the heat source. This method heats food faster than gas or electric hobs, reduces wasted energy and keeps the kitchen environment cooler by cutting radiant heat. The ALBA I2/700 splits its 7 kW total across two independent 3.5 kW zones, allowing separate dishes to be prepared simultaneously at different settings.
To start cooking, place a compatible pan on one of the marked zones. Turn the rotary knob to the right for power mode, where levels 1 to 9 adjust the electromagnetic field strength. Turn the knob to the left for temperature mode; the four-digit display then shows the set point up to 250 °C. The residual heat indicator remains lit until the surface is safe to touch, even after the zone is switched off. A drain channel at the rear collects spills, while the open base design improves ventilation and access for cleaning.
The unit is constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel, including a 6 mm thick ceramic glass cooking surface that withstands the thermal shock of professional use. Height-adjustable legs allow the worktop to be levelled on uneven floors. Beneath the glass, three sensors monitor each zone, ensuring the set temperature or power level is maintained without overshoot.
A 400 V three-phase supply is required, which matches the standard commercial kitchen circuit and avoids overloading single-phase wiring. The 900 mm width fits a standard worktop run, leaving room for adjacent appliances or prep space. The 7 kW rating reflects the maximum load the range can draw, determining the circuit breaker and cable size needed for safe installation.
Cleaning involves wiping the ceramic surface with a damp cloth once it has cooled; the smooth material prevents food from sticking. The stainless steel frame and drain channel can be washed with mild detergent, while the open base allows dust and debris to be swept out without dismantling. Optional accessories include a pot filler tap and a 230 V outlet mounted on the rear rail, providing water and power without additional plumbing or sockets.
