The efficiency of infrared ranges is higher compared to other available technologies of analogues power. The heat is generated directly in the bottom of the cookware and does not spread to the sides. The plate works only when the cookware is placed on it so the energy is not wasted. Fast cooking time, low heat release as well as, easy and comfortable cleaning are another advantages.
An electric infrared cooking top heats food by radiating intense infrared energy directly onto pots and pans. Unlike conventional hobs that warm the air around the vessel, infrared elements emit focused heat that transfers instantly to the base, cutting pre-heat time and reducing energy waste. The result is faster, more responsive cooking with even heat distribution across the entire contact surface.
The BHS-G GC1400-040EV has two circular heating zones, each 230 mm in diameter. The operator places a pan on a zone, turns the ergonomic knob to set the desired intensity, and the infrared element begins radiating heat. A visual indicator glows while the zone is active and remains lit when the zone is still hot after power is switched off. Stepless adjustment lets the chef fine-tune the output continuously, from gentle simmer to full sear. Each zone operates independently, so one can be used for delicate sauces while the other holds a rapid boil.
The hob is built on a smooth stainless-steel top plate and body, which resist corrosion and staining. A removable chimney sits above the zones; it can be detached and washed in a commercial dishwasher. The hair-joint connection system allows the unit to stand flush alongside other GORT LINE 700 modules, creating a seamless worktop.
Controls consist of two rotary knobs, one per zone. Each knob sets the infrared output from off to maximum. A row of LEDs beneath each knob shows whether the zone is powered and whether it is still hot.
The 5 kW total power rating means the unit requires a three-phase 400 V supply, standard in professional kitchens. The footprint of 400 mm depth by 730 mm width fits on most worktops or can be integrated into a run of modular equipment. The 250 mm height leaves clearance beneath for under-counter storage or ventilation.
Cleaning is straightforward: the smooth stainless-steel surface wipes clean with a damp cloth. The removable chimney can be washed separately in a dishwasher. No crevices or seams trap food debris, so daily upkeep is quick and thorough.
The appliance is CE approved and tested for commercial use.
