A top plate with comfortable and functional drainer has been used in the pasta cooker. Further solutions that increase the comfort of use include the tap that feeds the fresh water into the cooking tank controlled by the solenoid valve and drain valve located in the cupboard. Water from the tank is drained directly into sewage system. The cooking tank is made of AISI 316 high quality stainless steel, which is especially important due to the contact of the tank with salty water. Additional advantage of GORT pasta cookers are baskets made of AISI 304 stainless steel with cool-touch handles.
A pasta cooker boils water in a recessed tank, keeping the water at a steady temperature so that strands or shapes cook evenly without sticking. The tank holds the water while an electric element heats it; an overflow pipe prevents spillage when the baskets are lowered. Fresh water is added through a tap controlled by a button on the front panel, so the operator can top up without interrupting service. A drain valve at the base empties the tank directly into the sewage system, making it quick to change the water between batches or at the end of the day.
The operator fills the tank to the marked level, sets the temperature with the three-position knob, and waits for the water to reach the working range. Pasta is loaded into the stainless steel baskets—two smaller and one larger—and lowered into the boiling water. The baskets are lifted out when the pasta is al dente, and the removable drainer catches any drips. The chimney, which collects steam, can be taken off and washed in the dishwasher. When the tank needs cleaning, the drainer and baskets are removed, and the drain valve is opened to empty the water.
The tank is made of AISI 316 stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion in constant contact with water and salt. The body is constructed from high-quality stainless steel, and the legs are adjustable for levelling on uneven floors. A hair-joint connection system allows the cooker to stand flush against other GORT LINE 700 units, creating a continuous worktop.
The 6 kW power rating means the cooker requires a dedicated 400 V three-phase circuit, which is standard in professional kitchens. The 26 L volume determines the maximum batch size, allowing the operator to cook several portions at once without overcrowding. The footprint of 400 by 730 mm fits into a standard worktop run, while the 850 mm height keeps the controls within easy reach.
Cleaning involves removing the chimney, drainer and baskets, wiping down the tank and body, and running fresh water through the tap and drain valve to clear any residue. The adjustable legs should be checked periodically to ensure the unit remains stable.
The cooker is supplied with two baskets measuring 144 by 164 by 215 mm and one basket measuring 290 by 164 by 215 mm, all made of AISI 304 stainless steel. The appliance is CE approved and designed for seamless integration with GORT LINE 700 modular equipment.
