In all solid top models with gas cooking ranges, high-power small size burners made of corrosion-resistant material have been used. They provide perfect combustion and even heating on the whole pot surface.
A gas-fired cast iron surface hob transfers heat directly from the burners beneath the solid plate, creating an even, radiant cooking zone. The dense iron mass absorbs and holds heat, smoothing out temperature fluctuations and distributing energy across the entire surface. This method allows the hob to reach high temperatures quickly and maintain them steadily, making it suitable for searing, frying and holding dishes at serving temperature without hot spots.
The operator lights the hob using the built-in piezo-electric igniter, then adjusts the flame with the ergonomic knobs. Each knob controls a section of the three-part heating plate, allowing different areas to be set at different temperatures. The centre of the plate can reach up to 500 °C, while the outer zones provide gentler heat for simmering or warming. Once the hob is at working temperature, pans or griddles are placed directly on the surface, which conducts heat evenly into the base of the cookware.
The hob is constructed with a stainless steel body and a three-part cast iron cooking surface measuring 770 by 572 mm. The removable chimney can be washed in a commercial dishwasher, and the adjustable round legs allow the unit to be levelled on uneven floors.
The 10 kW power rating indicates the hob's gas load, which must be matched to the kitchen's supply and ventilation. The 800 by 730 mm footprint determines the space the hob occupies on the worktop, while the 850 mm height allows it to sit at standard work surface level. The adjustable legs can raise or lower the hob to align with adjacent equipment or to fit beneath overhead cupboards.
Cleaning involves removing the chimney for dishwasher washing and wiping the cast iron surface once it has cooled. The stainless steel body can be cleaned with standard kitchen sanitising agents. The hob is available in configurations for different gas types, which must be specified at the time of order. The base can be fitted with universal left- or right-hinged doors to convert the open space beneath the hob into a storage cupboard.
