Professional and durable gas griddle with a ribbed cooking surface, ensuring even heat distribution and easy cleaning. Equipped with safety features, it is ideal for professional kitchens. A distinctive feature of GORT gas griddles is their exceptionally large cooking surface and excellent temperature distribution. This allows a large number of products to be prepared simultaneously with a consistent level of browning and uniform taste characteristics.
A gas-fired ribbed grill surface creates pronounced char lines and drains fat as food cooks. The raised ridges sear the surface of meat, fish or vegetables while allowing rendered fat to run into the channels and away from the product, reducing flare-ups and keeping the finished dish lighter. Beneath the plate, a burner heats the entire surface evenly so every portion reaches the same temperature and cooks at the same rate, cutting waiting time and increasing throughput during service.
The operator lights the grill with a built-in piezoelectric igniter, then sets the desired temperature between 120 °C and 280 °C using the front-mounted control knob. Once the plate is hot, food is placed directly on the ribbed surface; the inclined angle of the plate helps fat flow towards the large drainage opening at the front. A removable grease tray collects the drippings, keeping the worktop clean and reducing the risk of slip hazards. After cooking, the tray can be lifted out and washed in a dishwasher or sink.
The grill stands on four height-adjustable round feet that level the unit on uneven floors and prevent rocking. A removable flue at the rear directs combustion gases out of the workspace, and the entire assembly is housed in a stainless-steel body that resists corrosion and is easy to wipe down. The open base can be fitted with optional universal doors to convert the space beneath the grill into a closed storage cabinet for utensils, trays or ingredients.
The 390 × 510 mm cooking area provides enough room for multiple portions at once, while the 400 × 730 mm footprint fits standard worktop depths. A 6.5 kW gas load requires a dedicated commercial gas line and adequate ventilation. The 60 kg weight means the unit is moved with a trolley or two people, and the 230 V electrical connection powers the ignition and safety systems.
Cleaning involves removing the grease tray, wiping the ribbed plate with a scraper or cloth, and washing the flue if it has been removed. The stainless-steel exterior is wiped with a damp cloth and mild detergent. When ordering, the gas type must be specified to ensure the correct jets and regulators are fitted.
