Floor drains efficiently remove water from surfaces, directing it to the sewage system. Commonly used in kitchens, food processing, and hospitals, they often need to be stainless steel for hygiene standards. In restaurant kitchens, they are crucial near boiling pans to manage cleaning water. Proper drainage enhances safety by reducing the risk of accidents from hot liquids and other hazards.
A welded stainless steel channel collects and directs wastewater across a kitchen floor, preventing pooling and slip hazards. The channel slopes gently towards a side-mounted siphon, using gravity to move liquid without pumps or moving parts. A trapped water seal in the siphon blocks odours and vermin from rising back into the workspace, while the open channel allows debris to be swept or hosed away without dismantling the system.
The operator lays the channel into a prepared floor recess, levels it with the built-in pins, and connects the DN100 outlet to the building drain. A mesh grating covers the channel, chosen to match the floor finish—standard, vinyl or tiled—and to provide either a smooth or anti-slip walking surface. The grating lifts for daily cleaning, exposing the full channel width.
Constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel between 0.8 mm and 2.0 mm thick, the channel is formed as a single hermetic unit with continuous welds. The side walls include levelling pins that adjust the channel's position before the floor is finished. The outlet pipe, also stainless steel, has an external diameter of 108 mm and terminates in a siphon that remains accessible for maintenance.
The 1500 mm length and 300 mm width suit a single workstation or a narrow aisle; the same design is available in lengths from 510 mm to 2500 mm and widths from 300 mm to 400 mm. Edge profiles adapt the channel to the surrounding floor material, ensuring a flush transition and preventing trip edges.
Cleaning involves lifting the grating, flushing the channel with water, and brushing out any debris. The siphon is removed periodically to clear accumulated sediment. The stainless steel surface resists corrosion and staining, requiring only routine washing to maintain hygiene and appearance.
The product sits in the drainage category, under floor channels for professional kitchens.
