Floor drains efficiently remove water from surfaces, directing it to the sewage system. Commonly used in kitchens, food processing, and hospitals, they often need to be stainless steel for hygiene standards. In restaurant kitchens, they are crucial near boiling pans to manage cleaning water. Proper drainage enhances safety by reducing the risk of accidents from hot liquids and other hazards.
Drain channels collect and direct wastewater from kitchen floors into the drainage system while keeping the surface safe and hygienic. A continuous welded channel forms a single, seamless trough that carries liquid to a side-mounted siphon. The siphon traps odours and debris, preventing them from rising back into the kitchen. The channel is sloped towards the outlet so water flows by gravity, eliminating standing pools that could harbour bacteria or create slip hazards.
The operator installs the channel by levelling the side walls with the built-in pins, then sealing the edges to the surrounding floor finish. Once the chosen grating is fitted, the channel is ready to receive water from hoses, spills or floor cleaning. The side siphon remains accessible for periodic cleaning without disturbing the floor surface.
Construction is AISI 304 stainless steel, welded into a single hermetic unit. Wall thickness ranges from 0.8 mm to 2.0 mm, giving the channel strength to support foot traffic and equipment loads. The flat base simplifies installation on level subfloors, while the side walls carry the levelling pins that ensure the correct fall towards the outlet.
Controls are limited to the choice of edge profile and grating. The edge profile is selected to match the floor finish: standard, vinyl or tiled. Gratings are available in smooth or anti-slip mesh, with different mesh sizes to balance flow rate and debris capture.
The size range 510–2500 mm in length and 300–400 mm in width allows the channel to be cut to the exact footprint of the kitchen area. The 108 mm external diameter outlet pipe connects to standard DN100 drainage fittings, ensuring compatibility with existing plumbing.
Cleaning involves removing the grating and flushing the channel with water to clear debris. The side siphon can be detached for deeper cleaning if required. The stainless steel surface resists corrosion and staining, reducing maintenance frequency.
Variants include three edge profiles and two grating types, each available in multiple mesh sizes. The channel is supplied as a one-part unit, ready for installation once cut to the required length.
