A wine cupboard that organises bottles by serving temperature rather than by colour or region. Each shelf becomes its own climate, so a single unit can hold sparkling wines at +6 °C, whites at +8 °C, light reds at +10 °C and full-bodied reds at +12 °C without compromise.
The cupboard draws room air across a refrigeration coil, cools it to the set point, then circulates it gently behind each shelf. Because the coil is sized for the full load, the air returns to the target temperature quickly after the door is opened, and the low-velocity fan prevents vibration that could disturb sediment in older vintages.
To use the cupboard, the operator slides the shelves to the spacing needed for the bottle shapes—Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne or half-bottles. Each shelf is then set to one of the four temperature modes. Once the bottles are loaded, the door is closed and the unit maintains the chosen climates indefinitely, switching the compressor on and off as the sensors detect drift.
The cabinet is built of powder-coated steel with a double-glazed door that reduces heat gain while allowing the stock to be viewed. Shelves are wooden slats that cradle the bottles horizontally and allow air to flow beneath them. The interior light is LED, cool-running and switches off automatically when the door is closed to prevent heat build-up.
Controls are digital and mounted on the top front edge. Each shelf has its own temperature selector, so the four modes can be assigned in any order. A single display shows the current reading for the selected shelf, and an alarm sounds if the door is left ajar or if the internal temperature strays outside the programmed range.
The 820 mm width and 550 mm depth give a footprint that fits against a standard worktop or under a low shelf. The 1960 mm height allows bottles to be stored from floor to ceiling without reaching above shoulder level. The weight of the unit, once loaded, means it is positioned permanently and not moved during service.
Temperature range spans +6 °C to +12 °C, covering every style from sparkling to mature red.
Shelving layout is adjustable, allowing the cupboard to hold between 70 and 120 bottles depending on the spacing chosen. The same flexibility lets the operator accommodate oversized bottles or magnums without removing shelves.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the interior with a damp cloth and occasionally vacuuming the refrigeration coil at the rear. Shelves can be removed for thorough cleaning, and the wooden slats are treated to resist moisture and staining from spilled wine.
The MMI is a single model with no variants. It is categorised as professional refrigeration for wine service.
