The chair is lifted by its backrest and positioned above another, then lowered until the legs rest on the floor. No locking mechanism is required; the weight of the upper chairs secures the stack. When seating is needed, each chair is pulled forward and downward, releasing it from the stack without disturbing the others. The lightweight construction means a single operator can move multiple chairs at once, either by carrying a small stack or by tilting a full one to roll on the rear legs.
