BHS.LV Table Base for 800 mm Worktops

A sturdy table base designed to support professional catering worktops up to 800 mm in diameter. The unit provides a stable platform for food preparation, plating or holding equipment in busy kitchens.

The base relies on a central steel column that transfers the load from the worktop down to a broad, flat foot. This arrangement spreads the weight evenly, preventing tipping while keeping the footprint compact. The column is bolted to a square mounting plate at the top and to the base at the bottom, allowing the parts to be packed flat for delivery and assembled on site.

Assembly begins with the lower base, which is laid on the floor. The column is then attached to the base with the supplied screws. Next, the square mounting plate is fixed to the top of the column. Once the plate is secure, the worktop is placed on it and fastened with separate screws that are not included in the set. The operator checks that all joints are tight and that the worktop sits level before loading the surface.

The base and column are made of black painted steel, chosen for its strength and resistance to kitchen moisture. The upper mounting plate measures 250 mm by 250 mm and is 3 mm thick, providing a solid contact area for the worktop. The lower base is available in either 1.4 mm or 2.0 mm steel thickness, depending on the load requirements of the installation. The entire unit weighs 6.5 kg, making it light enough to move by hand but heavy enough to stay in place under normal use.

The footprint of the base is 550 mm in diameter, which fits within the space of a standard worktop and leaves room for adjacent units. The height of 730 mm matches the typical work surface height in professional kitchens, allowing staff to work without bending or stretching. The base is supplied in black as standard, with other colours available to order from the RAL palette. A cast iron weight of 4.0 kg can be added to increase stability, and a round aluminium adapter is offered for mounting glass worktops.

Cleaning is straightforward: the painted steel surfaces can be wiped down with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The base should be checked periodically for loose screws and signs of rust, especially in humid environments. No lubrication or special maintenance is required beyond keeping the parts dry and secure.
