Professional waffle pan for making classic waffles
A classic waffle pan produces the familiar grid pattern by pressing batter between two heated cast iron plates. The plates transfer heat directly into the batter, cooking it evenly and creating the crisp exterior and soft interior that define the waffle. The fat collecting pan beneath catches any excess butter or oil, keeping the worktop clean and reducing flare-ups during service.
To use the CG90S, the operator plugs the unit into a 230 V circuit, switches it on and sets the adjustable thermostat between 60 °C and 300 °C. The heating indicator light confirms power is reaching the element. Once the plates reach the chosen temperature, the operator pours batter onto the lower plate, closes the pan and starts the timer. The timer signals when the waffle is ready; the operator opens the pan and removes the waffle with a plastic or wooden tool to avoid scratching the cast iron.
The CG90S is built on a stainless steel frame that resists corrosion and supports the weight of the cast iron plates. The plates themselves are arranged in a 6×4 grid, producing waffles with the traditional rectangular shape. A removable fat collecting pan slides out for emptying and cleaning between batches.
The controls are simple: an on/off switch starts and stops the heating element, the adjustable thermostat sets the cooking temperature, and the timer determines the cooking duration. The heating indicator light shows when the element is active.
The 1.6 kW power rating means the unit draws a moderate load from a standard 230 V circuit, suitable for most professional kitchens without requiring a dedicated line. The temperature range of 60 °C to 300 °C allows the pan to handle delicate batters at lower settings and crispier waffles at higher ones. The 15.8 kg weight makes the unit stable on a worktop but light enough for one person to move when necessary. The footprint of 290 mm by 415 mm fits neatly on most worktops without crowding other equipment.
Cleaning involves wiping the cast iron plates with a damp cloth after each use to remove batter residue, then seasoning them with a thin layer of oil to prevent rust. The fat collecting pan is removed, emptied and washed separately. The stainless steel frame can be wiped down with a mild detergent solution to maintain its appearance.
The CG90S is a single model with no variants or additional configurations.
In the Casselin catalogue, the CG90S is listed under waffle equipment for professional catering.
