A contact grill presses food between two heated plates, sealing in juices and creating an even crust on both sides at once. The top plate floats on hinges, so it rises to accept thick items and closes to meet the lower plate, transferring heat directly through the food without circulating air or oil. This method cooks faster than a conventional grill and leaves no flare-ups, making it steady for high-volume service.
The operator loads the lower plate, closes the top plate, and sets the adjustable thermostat between 60 °C and 300 °C. A battery-powered timer counts down the cooking period; when it expires, an audible signal sounds. The safety thermostat cuts power if the temperature exceeds the set limit, preventing overheating. A removable grease drip tray collects fat and juices that run off during cooking.
The grill is built in stainless steel for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. The cooking plates measure 360 mm square, giving a large surface for batch cooking. A cleaning brush is supplied to remove residue from the plates and tray.
The 2.4 kW power rating requires a dedicated 230 V circuit capable of handling the load without tripping. The 34 kg weight means the unit is moved with a trolley or by two people. The footprint of 400 mm front-to-back, 580 mm side-to-side and 265 mm high fits on most worktops or mobile stands.
After use, the operator removes the grease tray and empties it. The plates and tray are brushed clean while still warm, then wiped with a damp cloth. The stainless steel body is wiped down with a mild detergent solution. The battery timer is checked periodically and the batteries replaced when the signal weakens.
