A salamander grill directs intense overhead heat downward onto food, concentrating the energy where it is needed for browning, melting or crisping. The heating element sits above a sliding rack; when the rack is raised, the food moves closer to the element, accelerating the process without flipping. This method gives even, controlled results on cheese toppings, meats and baked dishes without the need for a full oven or a separate grill station.
To use the Casselin SEH004, position the unit on a stable worktop or shelf. Plug the appliance into the appropriate three-phase or single-phase supply. Slide the cooking grid forward, load the food onto it, then push the grid back under the element. Set the desired temperature with the manual or automatic regulator. The grill will heat rapidly; monitor the food through the open front and remove it once the surface reaches the required colour or texture. A removable tray beneath the element collects fat and crumbs, reducing flare-ups and simplifying cleaning.
The SEH004 is built from 18/10 chromium-nickel stainless steel with a Scotch-Brite satin finish, giving a durable, corrosion-resistant surface that withstands daily kitchen use. Chromed details add contrast and protect high-wear areas. Four supporting feet raise the unit off the worktop, allowing air circulation and preventing heat damage to the surface below.
The 6.1 kW power rating indicates the load the appliance places on the electrical circuit. It requires a dedicated supply capable of delivering the stated voltage—400 V three-phase with neutral, 230 V three-phase, or 230 V single-phase—depending on the installation. The 65 kg weight means the unit is moved with a trolley or by two people, not carried by hand. Its 770 mm width, 600 mm depth and 540 mm height determine the space it occupies on the worktop or shelf, including clearance for the open front and the fat tray.
Cleaning involves removing the fat tray, emptying it, and wiping it with a damp cloth. The stainless steel body and chromed parts can be cleaned with standard kitchen sanitising agents; abrasive pads should be avoided to preserve the satin finish. The sliding grid is lifted out for separate cleaning or replacement.
The grill is designed for front access, allowing the operator to load and unload food without reaching over hot surfaces. The manual or automatic temperature regulator provides flexibility for different cooking tasks, from quick browning to longer gratinating.
The SEH004 is categorised under professional salamander grills, used in commercial kitchens for finishing dishes before service.
