This warming marmite is designed to hold hot liquids at serving temperature without cooking them further. It uses a low-power stainless steel heating element beneath the tray to gently warm the contents. Heat circulates naturally, preventing scorching and ensuring even warmth from the bottom up, so food stays ready for serving throughout the shift.
A GN 1/1 gastronorm tray filled with soup, sauce or gravy slides into the well. The tray rests securely on internal supports. Pressing the On/Off button activates the element, which maintains a steady, moderate temperature without boiling. Once service finishes, the tray lifts out for cleaning and the unit cools down.
Both the body and heating element are made of stainless steel, offering corrosion resistance and straightforward sanitisation. A single On/Off button controls the appliance; there is no timer or temperature adjustment. The tray's 65 mm depth provides ample capacity while reducing the risk of spills when moving the unit.
The appliance has a 0.5 kW power rating and operates at 230 V, matching standard UK commercial kitchen supplies. Weighing 5.4 kg, it is easy to reposition on a worktop or shelf. Its 330 × 550 × 380 mm dimensions accommodate a standard GN 1/1 tray while leaving space for a lid or ladle.
Cleaning is simple: remove the tray, wipe the interior with a damp cloth, and dry the element to avoid scale. The exterior can be cleaned with a sanitiser-safe cloth. No disassembly is needed beyond removing the tray.
This model is designed for GN 1/1 trays with a 65 mm depth and is part of Casselin's counter-top holding and warming range.
