4 spits, 760 mm; Multigas burner with safety valve
A vertical gas chicken grill rotates four stainless steel tubular spits above a gas flame, exposing every part of the bird to direct radiant heat while the juices drip away. The method browns the skin evenly, seals the surface quickly and keeps the meat moist inside without basting. Because the heat source is below the food, the grill can run at a lower gas pressure than a horizontal rotisserie, reducing flare-ups and making temperature control more predictable.
The operator loads each spit with whole chickens or other poultry, securing them with the prongs. The four spits are controlled independently, so one can be started, stopped or adjusted without affecting the others. A single switch starts the motor that turns the spits; a second motor in the Grill Plus system can stop the rotating discs while the spit itself continues to turn, bringing the food closer to the door for easy inspection or removal. The gas valve sets the flame height, regulating the cooking temperature across the full height of the cabinet.
The grill is built on a frame of ribbed and reinforced stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and mechanical stress. The door is Low-E tempered glass, which reflects infrared radiation back into the cabinet, reducing heat loss and maintaining a stable cooking environment. A removable fat collection bucket sits below the spits, catching drippings to simplify cleaning and reduce smoke.
Controls include a gas valve for each spit, a master switch for the motors, and a separate switch for the interior lighting. The 230 V supply powers the motors and the LED lighting, which illuminates the cabinet for clear visibility of the cooking process.
The 12 kW gas rating indicates the maximum load on the gas supply, which must be sized to deliver that flow continuously. The 1011 mm width, 536 mm depth and 635 mm height define the footprint on the worktop and the space needed for ventilation around the unit. The four tubular spits, each 760 mm long and 12 mm square, determine the maximum size and number of birds that can be cooked at once.
Cleaning involves removing the fat collection bucket, wiping the spits and prongs, and cleaning the interior surfaces with a damp cloth. The stainless steel construction resists staining and can be sanitised with standard kitchen chemicals. The glass door should be cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner to avoid scratching the tempered surface.
The Elangrill 16P-ELBA is part of the Planetario gas series, designed for small to medium-scale professional kitchens requiring compact, efficient rotisserie cooking.
