| NOTES | 1 stainless steel spit mm 985 with forks |
A gas-powered rotisserie grill rotates large cuts of meat over an open flame, exposing every surface to consistent heat. The spit turns at a steady speed, basting the meat in its own juices while the fat drips away, producing a crisp exterior and tender interior without manual turning or flipping. This method is particularly effective for whole joints, poultry or pigs where even cooking and self-basting are essential for flavour and texture.
The operator loads the meat onto the stainless steel spit, securing it with the supplied forks to prevent shifting during rotation. Once lit, the gas burners generate direct heat beneath the spit, while the insulated chamber retains warmth and reduces fuel consumption. The Low-E glass door allows continuous monitoring of the roasting process without opening the unit, minimising heat loss and maintaining a stable cooking environment. A removable fat collection tray beneath the spit catches drippings, simplifying post-service cleaning and reducing flare-ups.
Constructed from ribbed and reinforced stainless steel, the grill's body resists warping and corrosion under frequent use. Ceramic insulation lines the interior, protecting the outer casing from excessive heat and improving thermal efficiency. The spit itself is a single stainless steel rod measuring 985 mm, designed to accommodate meat pieces with diameters between 300 mm and 350 mm, such as whole pigs or large beef joints.
Controls are minimal: a gas valve regulates the flame intensity, while an ignition system starts the burners. The 14 kW power rating reflects the grill's capacity to sustain high temperatures for extended roasting sessions, suitable for professional kitchens or outdoor events where large volumes are prepared. The 230 V electrical requirement powers the spit motor, ensuring continuous rotation without manual intervention.
The grill's footprint of 1211 mm by 536 mm fits on most worktops or mobile stands, while its 635 mm height allows easy access for loading and unloading. The removable fat tray slides out for emptying and washing, and the stainless steel surfaces can be wiped down with a damp cloth after each use. No additional maintenance is required beyond standard gas appliance checks.
The ELBA MAI 300 gas is a single model without variants, designed for professional catering environments where rotisserie cooking is a regular requirement.
