| NOTES | Off-cycle defrost/ Electric defrost |
Professional dual-temperature refrigeration unit made of AISI 304 stainless steel with forced-air circulation. The unit is divided into two independent compartments: a refrigerator with a temperature range of 0…+8 °C and a freezer with a temperature range of -18…-22 °C. Both compartments are equipped with independent refrigeration systems and electronic controls. The refrigerator compartment is defrosted by stopping the compressor, while the freezer compartment uses an electric defrost system.
A professional refrigerator-freezer combines two separate cooling circuits in one cabinet, allowing simultaneous chilled and frozen storage without cross-contamination. The upper circuit cools the refrigerated compartment by circulating refrigerant through an evaporator coil; the lower circuit maintains the freezer at sub-zero temperatures with its own coil and compressor. Off-cycle defrost in the refrigerator stops the compressor periodically, letting frost melt naturally, while the freezer uses an electric defrost heater to clear ice from its coil. Both systems rely on forced-air fans to distribute cold air evenly across every shelf, preventing hot spots and keeping stored food at consistent temperatures.
The operator loads GN 2/1 trays or loose items onto the six epoxy-coated shelves, then sets the desired temperature for each chamber using the electronic control panel. LED lighting illuminates the interior, making it easy to check stock without opening the doors. Once the set points are reached, the unit maintains them automatically, cycling the compressors and fans as needed. Shelves can be removed or adjusted in height to accommodate taller items, and each shelf supports up to 40 kg.
The cabinet is constructed from stainless steel inside and out, with 60 mm of insulation between the walls to minimise cold loss. Four doors, two for each chamber, reduce temperature fluctuations when accessing stock. Adjustable legs allow the unit to be levelled on uneven floors, and the 320 kg weight ensures stability during operation.
A 220-240 V single-phase supply powers the compressors, fans and control circuits, while the 0.800 kW cooling power reflects the load on the electrical circuit. The 1301 L volume provides space for bulk storage, and the 1388 mm width fits standard kitchen layouts designed for GN 2/1 equipment.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then drying to prevent water marks. Shelves can be removed for thorough cleaning, and the forced-air system should be checked periodically to ensure unobstructed airflow. The refrigerant R600a is pre-charged and sealed, requiring no routine maintenance.
Two versions are available: the standard 50 Hz model and a 60 Hz variant for markets with different electrical supplies.
The unit is classified as a refrigerator in the FAGOR professional catering catalogue.
