Professional GN 2/1 display freezer made of AISI 304 stainless steel with glass doors and forced-air circulation, ensuring a uniform temperature of -18…-22 °C throughout the cabinet. Equipped with electronic controls and LED lighting; defrosting is performed using a hot gas defrost system, ensuring fast, efficient and stable operation.
A professional display freezer built for high-volume storage and clear customer presentation, the FAGOR HOT GAS GN 2/1 keeps chilled goods visible while maintaining precise temperatures. Instead of a closed cabinet, the unit uses a glass-fronted design that allows customers to see products without opening doors, reducing cold-air loss and energy waste. Inside, a forced-air system circulates chilled air continuously, ensuring every shelf receives the same temperature and preventing warm spots that could spoil food. The refrigeration cycle relies on off-cycle defrost: the compressor stops periodically, allowing residual heat to melt any frost that has formed on the evaporator coils, then restarts automatically once the coils are clear. This method avoids the need for electric heaters, reducing energy use while keeping the interior frost-free and ready for the next load. Loading begins with the six removable GN 2/1 shelves, each coated in epoxy for corrosion resistance and easy cleaning. The shelves slide into vertical guides that offer multiple height settings, allowing the operator to adjust spacing for tall items or stack multiple trays. Each shelf supports up to 40 kg, so heavier items such as bulk meats or large containers can be stored without risk of bending. Once the shelves are positioned, products are placed directly on them or in GN 2/1 gastronorm trays. The doors, triple-glazed with electric anti-condensation heaters, remain closed during loading to prevent warm air entering; LED lighting inside ensures products are clearly visible through the glass. After loading, the electronic control panel is set to the desired temperature between 0 °C and +8 °C, and the unit maintains that range automatically. The interior is constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of sanitisation, while the exterior uses a food-safe stainless-steel finish that withstands daily wear in a busy kitchen. Rounded corners inside eliminate sharp edges where dirt could collect, making cleaning faster and more thorough. A 60 mm layer of insulation surrounds the cabinet, reducing heat transfer and keeping the interior stable even when the kitchen is warm. Adjustable stainless-steel legs allow the unit to be levelled on uneven floors, and their height range of 130–200 mm provides clearance for cleaning underneath. The control panel features a digital display and intuitive buttons that let the operator set the target temperature and monitor the current reading. No additional programming is required; once the temperature is set, the unit maintains it without further intervention. The 220–240 V single-phase supply plugs into a standard commercial circuit, and the 0.907 kW cooling power indicates the load it places on that circuit during operation. The 1332 L volume provides space for large quantities of chilled goods, while the 300 kg weight means the unit must be positioned on a floor capable of supporting it and moved with a pallet truck or similar equipment. The footprint of 1318 mm by 842 mm determines the floor space it occupies, and the 2040 mm height requires sufficient overhead clearance. Stainless-steel interior walls and epoxy-coated shelves wipe clean in seconds, so frozen goods stay visible and hygienic between rushes. The stainless-steel interior and epoxy-coated shelves can be wiped down with standard kitchen sanitiser, and the rounded corners prevent dirt build-up. Shelves are removed for thorough cleaning, and the guides they slide into are accessible for brushing or wiping. The glass doors are cleaned with glass cleaner, and the anti-condensation heaters prevent moisture from collecting on the surface. The adjustable legs allow the unit to be raised for cleaning underneath, and the smooth exterior resists stains and fingerprints. Two versions are available: the standard 50 Hz model with R290 refrigerant, and a 60 Hz version that uses the same refrigerant but is specified for regions with 60 Hz power supply. The unit is classified as a display freezer in professional refrigeration catalogues, positioned for front-of-house use where customers select chilled goods directly from the cabinet.
