FAMA Shopping Bag – Foldable 15 L Carrier

A foldable shopping bag that opens to hold 15 litres and collapses to a flat sheet for storage. The bag is carried by a single handle moulded into the rim, allowing it to hang from the hand or over the shoulder when loaded. When empty, the sides fold inward along creases formed during manufacture, reducing the bag to a thin rectangle that can be stacked with others of the same size.

The bag is shaped by injecting molten polyethylene into a mould under pressure. This process creates a seamless body with a continuous rim and a single handle, eliminating joints that could weaken under repeated folding. The material remains flexible at room temperature, so the bag can be opened and closed hundreds of times without cracking. Its walls are thin enough to keep the weight low but thick enough to resist punctures from sharp edges inside.

To use, pull the sides outward until the base flattens and the bag stands upright. Load items up to the 15 litre volume or 5 kilogram weight limit. When finished, lift the bag by the handle, fold the sides inward along the creases, and press the base upward to collapse the bag into a flat rectangle. Store it on a shelf or in a drawer, or stack multiple bags in the same space.

The bag is made of polyethylene formed in a single moulding operation. It is supplied in white, rose, green or black. Dimensions when open are 385 mm long, 170 mm wide and 345 mm high. The empty bag weighs 0.29 kilograms, making it light enough to carry when empty or loaded.

A 15 litre capacity allows the bag to hold several large items or a weekly shop for one person. The 5 kilogram weight limit matches the capacity, preventing overloading that could stretch the handle or tear the walls. The 385 mm length and 345 mm height provide a tall, narrow profile that fits beside a worktop or under a standard kitchen tap for rinsing. The 0.29 kilogram weight means the bag adds little to the load when carried alongside other items.

Cleaning is done by wiping the interior and exterior with a damp cloth. The polyethylene surface resists staining and can be rinsed under a tap if needed. When not in use, the bag can be stored flat or stacked with others to save space in cupboards or storerooms.
