A meat mincer of this type forces whole cuts through a rotating screw that compresses and pushes the meat against a cutting plate. The screw turns inside a stainless steel barrel, drawing the meat from the hopper and pressing it through the holes of the plate. A sharp knife spins against the plate, slicing the strands as they emerge, so the minced product falls cleanly into a waiting tray or bowl. This continuous action allows large volumes to be processed without stopping to reload or clear blockages.
The operator loads the hopper with chilled, trimmed meat, ensuring the pieces are small enough to enter the ø52 mm inlet. Once the hopper safety switch is engaged, the motor starts and the screw begins to turn. Meat is drawn down, compressed and pushed through the plate. If a blockage occurs, the reverse function can be activated to clear the obstruction without dismantling the unit. The minced meat collects below, ready for immediate use or further preparation.
The 22RS is built with a stainless steel casing and hopper for hygiene and durability. The entire grinding unit—barrel, screw, plate and knife—is fully removable for cleaning. An oiled gear motor drives the screw, reducing wear and noise during extended service. The supplied plate has ø6 mm holes, producing a medium-coarse mince suitable for burgers, sausages and meatballs. The knife is self-sharpening, maintaining a clean cut without frequent manual honing.
Controls consist of a start switch, a reverse switch and the hopper safety interlock. The start switch powers the motor forward, while the reverse switch temporarily reverses the screw to clear jams. The safety switch on the hopper prevents operation unless the hopper is correctly seated, protecting the operator from moving parts.
The 1.1 kW power rating indicates the load the mincer places on the electrical supply. A three-phase 400 V connection is standard in larger kitchens, while the 230 V option allows use on single-phase circuits where three-phase is not available. The 38 kg weight means the unit can be moved by two people or with a trolley, but it is designed to remain in place during service. The 410 × 310 × 520 mm footprint fits on a standard worktop or a sturdy shelf, taking minimal floor space.
Cleaning involves removing the grinding unit, disassembling the screw, plate and knife, and washing each part in hot water with detergent. The oiled gear motor requires no additional lubrication, but the housing should be wiped down to remove meat residue. The stainless steel surfaces resist corrosion and can be sanitised with approved kitchen chemicals.
The 22RS is positioned in the FIMAR catalogue as a mid-capacity mincer for butchers, caterers and food processors requiring consistent mince without manual effort.
