A vertical sausage filler loads meat into a cylinder and presses it through a nozzle with a piston. The piston is driven by a gearbox that converts hand or motor power into steady pressure, forcing the mix evenly into casings without air pockets. The vertical cylinder keeps the meat above the nozzle, letting gravity help the flow and reducing the effort needed to fill long batches.
To use the filler, the operator fits the chosen nozzle to the front of the cylinder, then fills the hopper with prepared sausage mix. The piston is drawn back to the top of the cylinder, creating space for the meat. Once the hopper is loaded, the operator turns the handle or starts the motor, driving the piston down and pushing the mix through the nozzle into the casing. The speed is controlled by the operator, allowing adjustment for different casing sizes and meat textures.
The FIMAR BHS-TL7OR is built with a 7 litre stainless-steel cylinder mounted on a painted steel frame. The vertical configuration measures 400 mm wide, 450 mm deep and 1050 mm high, standing on four feet that raise it clear of the worktop or floor. The unit weighs 29 kg, light enough to move with a trolley but stable once positioned.
Controls consist of a single-speed gearbox operated by a hand crank. The crank can be removed for storage or replaced with an optional motor drive for higher output.
The 7 litre capacity allows continuous filling of standard catering batches without refilling. The vertical design takes less floor space than horizontal models, leaving more room around the worktop for casings and trimming. The 29 kg weight means the filler can be shifted by one person but will not slide during use.
Cleaning involves removing the piston and nozzle, then washing the cylinder and all contact parts with hot water and sanitiser. The painted frame wipes clean with a damp cloth, while the stainless-steel cylinder resists corrosion and staining.
The BHS-TL7OR is also available in a horizontal version with the same 7 litre capacity but a larger footprint of 1200 mm by 400 mm by 400 mm.
This sausage filler is listed in the FIMAR catalogue under meat preparation equipment for professional catering kitchens.
