A mobile waste bin designed for professional kitchens, where hands-free operation keeps surfaces clean and workflow uninterrupted. The cylindrical container sits on castors, allowing it to be moved between prep stations, hobs and dishwash areas without lifting. A pedal at the base raises the lid, so staff can deposit waste without touching the bin, reducing cross-contamination and maintaining hygiene standards.

The principle is simple: a foot lever pulls a linkage that lifts the lid, then gravity closes it again once the pedal is released. This keeps the bin sealed between uses, containing odours and preventing pests. The waterproof base catches any liquid that drains from food scraps, stopping leaks onto the floor and making the bin easier to clean.

To use, wheel the bin to the work area, step on the pedal to open the lid, deposit waste, and release the pedal. The lid closes automatically. When full, the entire unit rolls away for emptying and cleaning. The castors swivel, so the bin can be positioned in tight spaces or turned to face the operator.

Construction is stainless steel throughout: a cylindrical body, a fitted lid and a waterproof base. The pedal assembly is metal, mounted to the base. Four castors are fitted, two of which lock to keep the bin stationary during use.

The pedal control sets the lid position; no other settings are required. The bin has no electrical parts, so it can be used anywhere in the kitchen without a power supply.

The 390 mm diameter gives a compact footprint, fitting under worktops or beside sinks. The 600 mm height allows the bin to hold standard kitchen waste bags without overhang. The stainless steel surface resists corrosion from food acids and cleaning chemicals, and can be wiped down or hosed off.

Cleaning involves removing the bag, wiping the interior and exterior with a damp cloth or sanitiser, and rinsing the waterproof base. The pedal mechanism should be checked periodically for smooth operation, and the castors cleaned to prevent debris from jamming the wheels.

A pedal-operated variant is available, adding hands-free convenience to the same stainless steel construction and dimensions.
