The mechanism lifts the lid when the operator steps on the pedal, then closes it automatically once the waste is dropped in. The operator loads waste directly into the bin, presses the pedal to open the lid, and releases it to close. The 200 mm wheels allow the bin to be moved easily between prep areas, storage and the waste collection point without lifting.

Constructed from polyethylene, the bin resists moisture and stains from food waste, cleaning chemicals and kitchen spills. The green colour helps staff identify it quickly among other containers. The lid is part of the same moulded unit, with no seams or joints where dirt can collect.

The pedal mechanism is built into the base, protected from spills and knocks. A single pedal controls the lid, requiring no electrical supply or batteries.

The 120 litre capacity holds a full service's worth of food waste, packaging and disposable items, reducing trips to the external waste area. The 550 x 480 mm footprint fits under worktops, beside prep tables or in cupboard alcoves, while the 930 mm height allows easy access without bending.

Cleaning involves wiping the polyethylene surfaces with a damp cloth and kitchen sanitiser. The smooth finish prevents waste from sticking, and the lid can be removed for deeper cleaning if needed. The wheels should be checked periodically for debris that could impede movement.

An optional opening pedal for the lid is available as an upgrade, allowing hands-free operation without the standard foot mechanism.
