A strong support surface for manual meat processing.
Suitable for butchers and meat industries.
A solid acacia wood chopping block and stool set forms a stable work surface for butchery, meat preparation and heavy cutting tasks. The block resists splitting and warping because the end grain of the timber is presented to the blade, absorbing the impact of cleavers and knives without dulling them. This end-grain construction also allows the wood fibres to close after each cut, reducing the risk of deep grooves that can harbour bacteria.
The block is 25 cm thick, giving it the mass to stay steady under force and the depth to prevent the blade reaching the worktop beneath. A matching stool is integrated into the design, raising the user to a comfortable working height and providing a place to sit during repetitive tasks or when trimming large joints.
The operator places the block on a level floor, positions the stool in front, and begins cutting. The end-grain surface yields slightly under the blade, cushioning the edge and prolonging its sharpness. After use, the block can be scraped clean with a bench scraper or washed with mild detergent and warm water, then left to dry standing on its side to prevent moisture collecting on the underside.
The acacia wood is treated with non-toxic paint and ecological adhesives, meeting current food-safety standards. Assembly uses pressure joints and internal wood inserts, eliminating metal fasteners that could loosen or corrode over time. The overall dimensions of 600 x 600 x 900 mm create a compact footprint that fits into a butcher's shop, a restaurant prep area or a catering kitchen without occupying excessive floor space.
Cleaning follows from the materials: the end-grain surface can be sanded lightly when it shows wear, restoring a smooth finish without removing excessive wood. The non-toxic treatment allows the block to be used with raw meat, poultry and fish without risk of chemical transfer. The stool is cleaned in the same way as the block, ensuring the entire unit remains hygienic and ready for daily use.
