A strong support surface for manual meat processing.
Suitable for butchers and meat industries.
A solid acacia wood butcher chopping block provides a stable, durable surface for cutting, portioning and preparing meat in professional kitchens. The block absorbs the impact of cleavers and knives without dulling blades, while its dense grain resists deep scoring that can harbour bacteria. An integrated stool raises the block to a comfortable working height, eliminating the need for a separate stand and keeping the worktop clear for other tasks.
The block is assembled with pressure joints and internal wood inserts that pull the planks tightly together, preventing gaps where moisture or debris could collect. Non-toxic paint and ecological adhesives seal the surface and edges, meeting food-safety standards without introducing harmful residues. The stool is formed from the same treated acacia, ensuring a consistent appearance and matching durability.
To use, position the block on a level floor near the preparation area. The stool supports the full weight of the block and operator, so no additional bracing is required. Place meat or other ingredients directly on the block and cut with a cleaver or knife as needed. After use, scrape away debris with a bench scraper, then wipe the surface with a damp cloth and a food-safe sanitiser. Avoid soaking the block or exposing it to standing water, as prolonged moisture can cause the wood to swell and joints to loosen.
The 600 mm square top gives ample space for large cuts of meat, while the 17 cm thickness prevents the block from flexing under heavy chopping. The overall height of 900 mm positions the work surface at a standard worktop level, reducing strain on the operator's back and shoulders. The block and stool are supplied as a single unit, simplifying installation and ensuring the stool is always at hand.
Cleaning is limited to the exposed surfaces; the internal wood inserts and pressure joints are not accessible and require no maintenance. The non-toxic paint and adhesives do not need reapplication under normal kitchen conditions. If the surface becomes deeply scored over time, it can be lightly sanded and resealed with a food-grade mineral oil to restore a smooth finish.
The block is designed for use in butcher shops, restaurant kitchens and catering operations where a robust, hygienic cutting surface is essential. Its footprint fits within standard worktop layouts, and the integrated stool allows it to be moved easily when floor space must be reconfigured.
