This type of cooler uses a ventilated refrigeration system to circulate cold air evenly across every shelf, preventing hot spots and ensuring consistent conditions from the top to the bottom of the cabinet. The cooling process relies on a refrigerant that absorbs heat from inside the unit and releases it outside, keeping the interior at the set temperature range without fluctuations that could harm the wine's flavour or ageing process.
The GEMM WL6/222S is loaded by placing bottles on the internal shelves, which are not supplied with the unit. The operator sets the desired temperature between +4 °C and +16 °C using the 2.2-inch touch control panel, which displays the current reading and allows fine adjustments. Once the temperature is selected, the cooler's automatic defrosting system activates heating elements at intervals to melt any ice that forms on the evaporator, while a separate condensate elimination function channels the water away without manual intervention. The monoblock condensing unit runs quietly, drawing power from a standard 230 V single-phase supply, and the internal LED lighting illuminates the bottles, with brightness adjustable via remote control to suit the display setting.
The cabinet is built from stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion and ease of cleaning in a busy commercial environment. The exterior can be custom-painted to match the surrounding décor, and the single-side door locks to secure the contents. The unit's Climate Class 4 rating confirms it operates reliably in ambient temperatures up to +30 °C with moderate humidity, making it suitable for most professional settings without additional climate control.
The 1650 mm width, 550 mm depth and 2200 mm height create a footprint that fits against a wall or within a larger display area, while the 0.98 kW power rating indicates the load it places on the electrical circuit. The R290 refrigerant reduces energy consumption and environmental impact compared with older refrigerants, and the noise emission below 43 dB ensures the cooler does not disrupt conversation or service.
Cleaning involves wiping down the stainless steel interior and exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface. The automatic defrost and condensate systems eliminate the need for manual defrosting or water tray emptying, reducing maintenance tasks. A one-side door version is standard, with no internal fittings included, allowing the operator to choose shelving or racks that suit the bottle sizes and display style.
The cooler is categorised as professional refrigeration for front-of-house wine display, combining temperature control, visual appeal and operational efficiency in a single unit.
