GREDIL Handing Cabinet with Sliding Door 1200 mm

A handing cabinet provides a hygienic, enclosed space for holding plated dishes, trays or utensils at serving temperature before they reach the pass. The sliding door eliminates the swing arc of a hinged door, saving aisle space in tight kitchen layouts and reducing the risk of collisions when staff move quickly.

The cabinet is a static enclosure: it does not heat or cool actively. Instead, it relies on the ambient kitchen temperature and the residual warmth of the items placed inside. Shelves are positioned to allow air to circulate naturally around each tray or plate, maintaining even conditions without fans or elements. The stainless steel interior reflects heat back into the cabinet, slowing the cooling of hot food while protecting it from airborne contaminants.

To use the cabinet, the operator slides the door open, loads the shelves with prepared dishes, and closes the door. Adjustable shelf positions let the user tailor the spacing to the height of the items—tall gastronorm pans, stacked plates or shallow trays. Once loaded, the cabinet keeps the contents visible through the full-length glass panel, so staff can monitor readiness without opening the door and losing heat.

Construction is entirely stainless steel, chosen for corrosion resistance, ease of cleaning and compliance with food-safety standards. The exterior and interior surfaces are seamless, with rounded corners to prevent dirt traps. Assembly tools are included, and the unit arrives in compact cardboard packaging to simplify delivery through narrow corridors or service lifts.

The cabinet measures 1200 mm wide, 300 mm deep and 600 mm high. The 1200 mm width accommodates standard gastronorm tray lengths, while the 300 mm depth fits neatly against a wall or between workstations without protruding into the aisle. The 600 mm height places the top shelf at a comfortable reach for most staff, reducing the need to bend or stretch. Adjustable feet allow the cabinet to be levelled on uneven floors, preventing door misalignment.

Cleaning is straightforward: shelves lift out for separate washing, and the smooth stainless steel surfaces wipe down with a damp cloth and sanitiser. The sliding door track should be cleared of debris regularly to ensure smooth operation. No lubrication is required, as the track is designed for dry running.

The unit is delivered with a protective equipotential pin, allowing it to be bonded to the kitchen's earth system for electrical safety, even though the cabinet itself has no electrical components.
