The cotton candy machine makes the preparation process quick, convenient and efficient. It is equipped with a removable bowl that can be safely washed in the dishwasher, as well as clear power and heating control buttons with indicator lights for easy use. For added convenience, the appliance has a practical drawer for storing sticks, sugar and flavourings, keeping everything organised and all the essentials in one place.
A cotton candy machine spins melted sugar into fine threads that wrap around a stick into a fluffy cloud. The heating element beneath the bowl raises the temperature until the sugar crystals melt into a liquid. A motor drives a spinning head at the centre of the bowl; as the head turns, it flings the liquid sugar through tiny holes, where it cools instantly into strands. The strands collect on the rim of the bowl and are gathered by hand onto a stick, forming the familiar cotton candy texture.
To operate the machine, secure the stainless-steel bowl onto the four mounts. Fill the sugar dispenser with granulated sugar and add any colouring or flavouring to the drawer. Plug the machine into a 230 V circuit and turn on the power switch; the indicator light confirms the motor is ready. Switch on the heating element and wait until the bowl reaches the correct temperature. Once the sugar begins to melt, turn the spinning head by hand to start the threads, then hold a stick against the rim to collect the cotton candy. When finished, turn off both switches and allow the bowl to cool before removing it for cleaning.
The machine is built from carbon steel, chosen for its strength and heat resistance. The removable stainless-steel bowl is dishwasher-safe and locks into place with four mounts to prevent movement during spinning. A practical drawer beneath the bowl stores stirrers, sugar, colourings and other accessories, keeping them within reach. The sugar dispenser is included, while the lid must be ordered separately as article 282755. Separate switches control the power and the heating element, each with an integrated indicator light to show when the circuit is live. An overload fuse cuts the motor if the spinning head jams, protecting the mechanism from damage.
The 1.13 kW heating element draws a steady load on a 230 V supply, requiring a dedicated circuit in a professional kitchen. The machine weighs 11.08 kg, making it light enough to move between events but stable on a worktop. Its footprint of 520 mm by 520 mm fits on most counters, with a height of 503 mm allowing easy access to the spinning head. The removable bowl and dishwasher-safe construction simplify cleaning; wipe the carbon steel housing with a damp cloth and dry it to prevent rust. The accessory drawer should be emptied and wiped after each use to avoid sugar build-up.
The machine is sold without the lid, which must be purchased separately as HENDI article 282755. It is categorised under cotton candy equipment in the professional catering range.
