Hot showcase BASIA Neo 1200 mm. Temperature range +30/+90 ºC
A hot showcase keeps prepared dishes at serving temperature without drying or overcooking. The IGLOO BASIA Neo 0.94 uses a bain-marie—water gently heated by ceramic elements—to surround gastronorm containers with even, moist heat. This method prevents hot spots and preserves texture and flavour, making it suitable for sauces, stews, and plated meals that must stay ready for service throughout a shift.
The operator loads gastronorm containers into the stainless-steel exposition area, then sets the thermostat to the desired temperature between 30 °C and 90 °C. Warm air is circulated to the curved front glass, keeping it clear and preventing condensation that could obscure the display. Once the temperature is reached, the LED lamp illuminates the dishes, and the ceramic heaters maintain the set point. The water level sensor alerts the operator if the bain-marie needs topping up, ensuring consistent performance.
The unit is built on a painted-steel base with an external housing of white-coated steel at the rear. The front panel, bumper, and ABS side panels are available in multiple colours from the IGLOO pattern book, allowing the showcase to match kitchen decor. Anodised aluminium profiles in gold or silver frame the curved, openable glass, while the stainless-steel worktop provides additional prep space. Ecological polyurethane foam insulation minimises heat loss, reducing energy use during long service periods.
Controls include a temperature regulator for precise adjustment and a water level sensor to prevent the bain-marie from running dry. The 230 V, 50 Hz power requirement matches standard UK commercial circuits, and the 5.0 kWh/24h energy rating reflects the load needed to maintain temperature in a busy kitchen. The footprint of 1200 mm wide, 1155 mm deep, and 1220 mm high, plus 10 mm clearance, fits most serving counters while allowing space for ventilation.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel worktop and exposition area with food-safe sanitiser, while the curved glass can be opened for access to the interior. The ABS side panels and painted surfaces are wiped down with a damp cloth. The bain-marie should be drained and refilled regularly to prevent mineral build-up, and the water level sensor checked for proper function.
The BASIA Neo 0.94 is available with colour options for the front panel, bumper, and side panels, as well as gold or silver aluminium profiles. It is designed for use with gastronorm containers, ensuring compatibility with standard kitchen workflows.
