Hot showcase BASIA Neo 1330 mm. Temperature range +30/+90 ºC
A hot showcase keeps prepared dishes at serving temperature without drying or overcooking, so they stay ready for customers throughout service. The BASIA Neo 1.25 uses a bain-marie system: a heated water bath beneath gastronorm containers transfers gentle, even heat to the food. This method prevents hot spots and preserves moisture, texture and flavour better than direct radiant heat. Warm air is also circulated to the curved front glass, keeping it clear of condensation so customers can see the dishes clearly.
To use the showcase, the operator fills the bain-marie with water to the level indicated by the sensor, then places gastronorm containers of food onto the stainless-steel exposition shelf. The thermostat is set between +30 and +90 °C, depending on the dish—lower for delicate sauces, higher for roasted meats. Once the temperature is reached, the ceramic heaters and oven bulbs maintain it, while the LED lamp illuminates the display. The curved front glass opens upwards for easy access, and the stainless-steel worktop provides a stable surface for plating or temporary storage.
The exterior is built from white coated steel on the sides, with a base and front panel available in a range of colours from the IGLOO pattern book. The interior exposition area is made of acid-resistant stainless steel, resistant to corrosion from food acids and cleaning chemicals. Anodised aluminium profiles in gold or silver frame the glass, and ABS side panels and bumpers come in matching or contrasting colours. Ecological polyurethane foam insulation reduces heat loss, and adjustable legs level the unit on uneven floors.
The 230 V, 50 Hz power supply draws 5.3 kWh over 24 hours, a load typical for a single-phase commercial circuit. The temperature range of +30 to +90 °C covers holding for most hot dishes, from soups to grilled items, but does not reach cooking temperatures. The footprint of 1330 mm wide by 1155 mm deep fits standard worktop depths, while the 1220 mm height allows staff to reach the top shelf comfortably.
Cleaning involves draining the bain-marie, wiping down the stainless-steel interior and worktop with a food-safe sanitiser, and cleaning the glass with a non-abrasive cloth. The ABS panels and painted steel surfaces can be wiped with a damp cloth, avoiding harsh chemicals that could damage the finish. The LED lamp and ceramic heaters require no regular maintenance beyond occasional dusting.
The BASIA Neo 1.25 is available with different colour options for the base, front panel, bumpers and ABS side panels, selected from the IGLOO pattern book. Anodised aluminium profiles can be ordered in gold or silver finishes to match the kitchen's aesthetic.
