Hot showcase BASIA Neo 1960 mm. Temperature range +30/+90 ºC
A hot showcase keeps prepared dishes at serving temperature while displaying them to customers. The BASIA Neo 1.88 uses a bain-marie—water heated by ceramic elements—to transfer warmth evenly to gastronorm containers. This method prevents hot spots and drying, so food stays moist and at the exact temperature the kitchen sets. Warm air is also circulated across the curved front glass, stopping condensation and keeping the display clear.
The operator loads gastronorm containers into the stainless-steel exposition area, sets the thermostat between 30 °C and 90 °C, and switches on the ceramic heaters and LED lamp. The water level sensor monitors the bain-marie, and the adjustable legs ensure the unit sits level on the worktop or floor. Once the temperature is reached, the showcase holds dishes ready for service, with the curved glass lifted to replenish stock.
The exterior is white-coated steel on the sides and back, while the base, front panel, bumper and ABS side panels can be ordered in colours from the IGLOO pattern book. Anodised aluminium profiles in gold or silver frame the glass. Inside, the worktop and exposition area are acid-resistant stainless steel, and the insulation is ecological polyurethane foam. The top lamp combines ceramic heaters with oven bulbs to maintain temperature and visibility.
Controls consist of a thermostat for temperature adjustment and a water-level sensor that alerts the operator if the bain-marie needs topping up. The 230 V, 50 Hz supply plugs into a standard single-phase circuit, and the 6.5 kWh daily energy use reflects continuous holding at the set temperature. Overall dimensions of 1960 mm wide, 1155 mm deep and 1220 mm high, plus a 10 mm tolerance, determine the space required on the counter or floor.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel worktop and exposition area with a damp cloth and mild detergent, while the curved glass can be lifted for access to the interior. The ABS side panels and painted steel surfaces are cleaned with a soft cloth to avoid scratching the finish. The bain-marie should be drained and refilled regularly to prevent scale build-up.
The BASIA Neo 1.88 is available with different colours for the base, front panel, bumper and ABS side panels, and the anodised aluminium profiles can be specified in gold or silver.
