Confectionery showcase INNOVA NZ45.110 Outer corner. Temperature range +2ºC/+15ºC
A refrigerated confectionery showcase keeps delicate pastries, cakes and chocolates at precise chilled temperatures while displaying them under bright, even light. The unit draws heat from the cabinet with a cooling aggregate that circulates a refrigerant through evaporator coils. As the refrigerant evaporates inside the coils, it absorbs heat from the air, lowering the temperature to the set range. A fan then circulates the chilled air throughout the interior, ensuring every shelf receives the same cooling effect. Automatic defrost cycles prevent ice build-up on the coils, maintaining consistent performance without manual intervention. The refrigerant used here, R290, is a hydrocarbon with low environmental impact, chosen for its efficiency in small to medium refrigeration systems.
To load the showcase, the operator slides the front glass panel upwards and out of the way on its retractable system. Adjustable glass shelves are positioned at the desired height and angle, then filled with confectionery. The sliding back doors allow access from the rear for restocking without disturbing the display. Once loaded, the front glass is lowered and secured with an electromagnetic lock. The electronic temperature controller is set to the required temperature between +2 °C and +15 °C, and the unit maintains that range automatically. LED strips along the top and front frame illuminate the contents, highlighting colours and textures while keeping heat output minimal. An alarm sounds if the condenser becomes clogged or the fan fails, alerting staff to check the unit before temperatures rise.
The INNOVA NZ45.110 is constructed with a combination of materials chosen for durability and aesthetics. The external glass panels are double-glazed with argon filling and a black silkscreen border, reducing condensation and improving insulation. The housing and base on the staff side are made of coated steel, available in several colours from the IGLOO pattern book. Wooden elements, including the top worktop and external trim, can be selected to match the kitchen's decor. The internal frame is painted in a coordinating colour, while the bottom shelf and kick plinth are stainless steel for easy cleaning. Glass shelves rest on the painted frame, adjustable in height and angle to suit different products. The condenser is designed for automatic vapourisation, eliminating the need for manual drainage.
The 230 V, 50 Hz power supply connects to a standard single-phase circuit, suitable for most professional kitchens. The daily energy consumption of 9.7 kWh reflects the load of maintaining a chilled environment with frequent door openings. The unit's footprint of 1350 mm wide, 850 mm deep and 1100 mm high allows it to fit along a worktop or against a wall, with enough depth to display multiple rows of confectionery. The temperature range of +2 °C to +15 °C accommodates both chilled desserts and items that require a slightly warmer presentation, such as chocolate truffles or cream-filled pastries.
Cleaning involves removing the glass shelves and wiping them with a mild detergent, then drying to prevent water spots. The stainless steel bottom shelf and kick plinth can be cleaned with standard kitchen sanitiser. The painted internal frame and wooden elements should be wiped with a damp cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish. The glass panels are cleaned with a glass cleaner, taking care not to spray directly onto the LED strips or electronic components. The condenser and fan should be checked periodically for dust build-up, which can reduce efficiency.
The INNOVA series can be configured as separate modules or combined into multiplexed units for larger displays. The NZ45.110 is part of the INNOVA PLUG-IN range, designed for easy installation and operation. It is placed in the IGLOO catalogue under refrigerated pastry and confectionery display equipment.
