IGLOO KASIA 990 mm salad bar for self-service display

A refrigerated salad bar keeps prepared salads, fruits and chilled desserts at serving temperature while presenting them to customers under glass. Static cooling circulates cold air gently around the food without a fan, preventing dehydration and preserving texture. The cooling unit draws heat from the display cavity and expels it at the rear, maintaining a steady 2 to 8 °C range that meets food-safety standards for ready-to-eat items.

The operator loads gastronorm containers into the stainless-steel wells, arranges the produce, and closes the curved front glass. LED lighting inside the canopy highlights the colours of the food; an optional deep-pink setting enhances the appearance of meats. A digital regulator on the front panel sets the target temperature and shows the current reading. Night blinds made of plexiglass slide down to cover the glass when the unit is closed, reducing energy use and protecting the contents. Automatic defrost cycles clear frost from the evaporator without manual intervention, and an alarm sounds if the condenser becomes clogged or the fan fails.

The outer body is coated steel in a choice of colours, while the work surface and display wells are stainless steel for durability and hygiene. Anodised aluminium profiles in gold or silver frame the glass, and the entire unit stands on adjustable feet to level it on uneven floors. Ecological polyurethane foam fills the walls, providing insulation that keeps the interior cold and the exterior cool to the touch.

The 990 mm width fits standard worktop layouts and allows side-by-side placement for larger displays. A power draw of 0.169 kW plugs into a single-phase 230 V circuit, typical of commercial kitchens. The footprint of 990 × 765 mm leaves room for customer access in front and service clearance at the rear.

Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, removing the night blinds for washing, and vacuuming the condenser coil at the back to maintain airflow. The curved glass hinges open for thorough cleaning of the interior wells and the underside of the canopy.

Available options include LED lamp colour (white, pastry or meat “deep pink”) and anodised aluminium profile finish (gold or silver).
