Confectionery showcase LUNA 900 mm, H-1440, Temperature range +2ºC/+10ºC
A refrigerated confectionery showcase designed for impulse sales keeps chilled sweets, pastries and desserts at a steady low temperature while presenting them under bright, adjustable lighting. The LUNA 900 mm model from IGLOO uses a built-in refrigeration unit that circulates chilled air through a fan, ensuring every shelf receives the same cool flow. This dynamic cooling prevents warm spots and keeps products evenly chilled without needing an external condenser or remote plant, making it suitable for smaller shops and pop-up displays where space is limited.
The operator loads the shelves with confectionery, sets the desired temperature between +2 °C and +10 °C on the electronic controller, and the unit maintains that range automatically. LED strips above and beneath each shelf illuminate the products in a choice of white, confectionery or meat lighting, allowing the display to match the colour tone of the items. A night roller blind lowers to cover the glass when the shop is closed, reducing energy use and protecting the contents. Automatic defrost cycles clear frost from the evaporator without manual intervention, while an alarm sounds if the condenser becomes blocked or the fan fails, alerting staff to check the unit.
The cabinet is constructed with an aluminium frame and side glass panels silk-screened in black, white or grey RAL 7042. Ecological polyurethane foam insulation fills the walls, reducing heat transfer and keeping the internal temperature stable. The refrigeration unit uses R290 refrigerant, a hydrocarbon with low environmental impact. The footprint of 900 mm width, 660 mm depth and 1440 mm height allows the showcase to fit into tight retail spaces, and the 10 mm adjustment in the height specification accounts for levelling feet or minor installation tolerances.
Controls include an electronic temperature controller with a digital display, allowing precise setting and monitoring of the internal temperature. The 230 V, 50 Hz power requirement means the unit plugs into a standard single-phase circuit, and the 10.1 kWh energy consumption over 24 hours reflects the load on the supply during continuous operation. Each shelf can be fitted with price strips in a matching or contrasting colour, helping to organise the display and guide customers.
Cleaning involves wiping the glass and shelves with a damp cloth and mild detergent, while the automatic defrost and condenser vapourisation reduce the need for manual defrosting. The LED lighting does not generate heat, so it does not contribute to cooling load or require bulb replacement. The unit is supplied as a plug-in model, ready for immediate use once positioned and levelled.
The LUNA 900 mm is part of IGLOO's impulse display range, positioned in the catalogue for retail environments where chilled confectionery drives unplanned purchases.
