A refrigerated display case designed for patisseries and cafés keeps delicate pastries at a precise, gentle chill while presenting them under bright, even light. The unit circulates cool air dynamically, pulling heat away from the interior without freezing the surface of éclairs or the glaze on fruit tarts. Automatic defrost cycles prevent ice build-up on the evaporator, so the air stays dry and the pastries retain their texture. The refrigerant, R290, is a hydrocarbon with a low environmental impact, chosen for its efficient heat-transfer properties in small to medium showcases.

To use the showcase, the operator loads each of the three glass shelves with trays or platters of pastries, adjusting the height and tilt to create an organised display. The front glass panel, curved with a 20 mm bending radius, swings open for easy access. Once the shelves are filled, the electronic regulator is set to the desired temperature between +4 °C and +10 °C; the digital display confirms the setting. LED strips above and beneath each shelf illuminate the contents, highlighting colours and textures without adding heat. The lower painted-steel shelf provides additional storage for boxes or backup stock. When the unit is running, the condenser fan expels warm air at the rear, so the space behind the showcase must remain clear for airflow.

The outer casing is constructed from coated steel sheet, while the side panels and front panel are melamine-faced wood in a choice of colours. Ecological polyurethane foam fills the cavity between the inner and outer skins, reducing heat transfer. The inner frame is painted to match the chosen colour scheme, and the lower shelf is also painted steel, available in the same range. An alarm sounds if the condenser becomes clogged or the fan fails, alerting staff to check the rear of the unit.

The 230 V, 50 Hz power supply matches the standard single-phase circuit found in most professional kitchens, so no special wiring is required. The footprint of 960 mm by 850 mm allows the showcase to fit against a worktop or wall, and the 1200 mm height places the top shelf at eye level for most adults. The unit can be used alone or linked side by side with other PASTELLA SWEET modules to create a continuous display.

Cleaning involves wiping the glass shelves and painted interior with a mild detergent solution, while the melamine panels and coated steel exterior can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The condenser coil at the rear should be vacuumed periodically to remove dust. Side panels, front panel, inner frame and lower shelf are all available in multiple colours to coordinate with the kitchen décor.
