IGLOO PICO 0.98 Refrigerated Display Case for Self-Service Sales

A refrigerated display case keeps perishable foods chilled while presenting them to customers through clear glass. Cold air settles inside the insulated cabinet, drawn down from an internal cooling unit and circulated without a fan. This static cooling method prevents dehydration and maintains a gentle, even temperature that preserves the colour and texture of meats, cheeses and fish without freezing them.

The PICO 0.98 is designed for self-service sales. The operator loads the stainless-steel exposition shelf from the front, arranging products so they face the customer. The hinged back doors of the storage chamber below give access to stock, allowing quick replenishment without interrupting the display. Once loaded, the electronic controller is set to the desired temperature between +1 °C and +10 °C. The unit defrosts automatically, melting any ice that forms on the evaporator and draining the water into a container at the condenser outlet. An alarm sounds if the condenser becomes clogged or the fan fails, alerting staff to clean or service the unit.

The case is built on a white-coated steel frame with a service-side base flashing for stability. Insulation is ecological polyurethane foam, and the exterior finish can be chosen to match the shop's decor. Anodised aluminium profiles in gold or silver frame the straight front glass pane, which tilts slightly for cleaning. LED lighting inside the case is selectable in white, confectionery or pink to enhance the appearance of the products. Bumpers and insulated plastic sides are available in different colours, and the stainless-steel worktop provides a durable surface for additional tasks.

Power consumption of 4.0 kWh per 24 hours reflects the load on the electrical circuit, suitable for a standard 230 V single-phase supply. The footprint of 1060 mm by 860 mm allows the case to fit into most retail layouts, while the 1220 mm height keeps products at eye level. The refrigerants R134 A and R290 are chosen for their cooling efficiency and lower environmental impact.

Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and removing the glass pane to wash it separately. The condenser should be vacuumed periodically to prevent dust build-up, and the automatic defrost system reduces the need for manual ice removal.

The PICO series is designed to be modular, with internal and external corners available to build continuous lines of cases tailored to the shop's layout. The digital display on the electronic controller shows the current temperature, allowing staff to monitor conditions at a glance.
