Cold showcase PICO PLUG-IN 1300 mm. Temperature range +1ºC/+10ºC
A refrigerated display case keeps perishable foods chilled while presenting them to customers through a clear front panel. The unit circulates cool air inside a sealed cabinet, drawing heat away from the stored items and expelling it at the rear. This static cooling method maintains a steady, low temperature without creating draughts that could dry out exposed products like sliced meats or fresh fish. The showcase becomes a bridge between storage and sale, allowing customers to view and select items without opening doors that would let warm air enter and disrupt the internal climate.
To operate the PICO 1.22, the user first connects the plug-in unit to a 230 V single-phase supply. The electronic controller is set to the desired temperature between +1 °C and +10 °C, and the digital display confirms the setting. Once powered, the internal cooling aggregate starts automatically, and the LED lighting illuminates the stainless-steel exposition area. Products are loaded through the hinged back doors of the storage chamber, then arranged on the stainless-steel worktop and within the display space. The straight front glass pane can be slightly opened for cleaning or restocking. An automatic defrost cycle prevents ice build-up, and a condenser outlet directs meltwater to an external container. Alarms sound if the condenser becomes blocked or the fan fails, ensuring the unit remains at the correct temperature.
The PICO 1.22 is constructed with a body of white coated sheet metal and anodised aluminium profiles in gold or silver. The storage chamber is lined with white coated steel, while the exposition area and worktop are stainless steel. Insulated plastic sides and glass sides are available in selectable colours, and the bumper comes in different finishes to match the shop's decor. Ecological polyurethane foam insulation fills the walls, reducing energy transfer and maintaining the internal temperature. The LED lamp offers white, confectionery or pink light to enhance the appearance of the displayed items.
A 230 V, 50 Hz power supply is required, and the unit draws 4.0 kWh over 24 hours, indicating its continuous load on the kitchen's electrical circuit. The temperature range of +1 °C to +10 °C suits fresh meats, cheeses, fish and other chilled products that must remain above freezing. The footprint of 1300 mm by 860 mm, with an additional 10 mm clearance, determines the space it occupies on the shop floor, while the 1220 mm height allows customers to view products at eye level. The modular design permits multiple units to be joined using internal and external corner pieces, creating a continuous display line tailored to the premises.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel worktop and exposition area with a damp cloth, while the hinged back doors allow access to the storage chamber for deeper cleaning. The straight front glass pane can be slightly opened for wiping, and the LED lamp is accessible for replacement. The condenser outlet should be checked regularly to ensure the external container is empty, preventing water overflow. The electronic controller's digital display simplifies monitoring, and the alarm system alerts staff to any cooling issues.
The PICO 1.22 is part of IGLOO's modular showcase range, designed for self-service environments where customers select items directly from the display. It is categorised under refrigerated display units in the shop's catalogue.
