Cold showcase PICO PLUG-IN 2040 mm. Temperature range +1ºC/+10ºC
A refrigerated display case keeps perishable goods at a steady low temperature while presenting them through clear glass to customers. The static cooling system circulates cold air naturally inside the cabinet, eliminating moving parts and reducing maintenance. An internal cooling aggregate cools the air, which settles over the products and maintains the set temperature range without the noise or vibration of forced-air fans. This method preserves the appearance and texture of meats, cheeses and fish by preventing surface drying and ice formation.
To use the showcase, the operator loads the stainless-steel exposition area with products, then sets the electronic temperature controller to the desired value between +1 °C and +10 °C. The digital display shows the current temperature, while an automatic defrost cycle removes any frost build-up without manual intervention. LED lamps illuminate the interior in white, confectionery or pink light, highlighting the products while consuming minimal energy. The straight front glass pane can be slightly opened for quick access, and hinged back doors on the storage chamber allow restocking from the rear.
The body is constructed from white coated sheet metal with a service-side base flashing, and the worktop is stainless steel. Anodised aluminium profiles in gold or silver frame the glass sides, which are available in different colours. Insulated plastic sides and glass panels form the cabinet walls, filled with ecological polyurethane foam for thermal efficiency. A bumper in a selectable colour protects the front edge, and a condenser outlet directs waste heat to an external container.
The 230 V, 50 Hz voltage requirement matches a standard single-phase kitchen circuit, allowing the unit to be plugged in without special wiring. The 5.1 kWh per 24 hours energy consumption reflects the load on the kitchen's electrical supply during continuous operation. The footprint of 2040 mm by 860 mm by 1220 mm plus a 10 mm tolerance determines the floor space the showcase occupies, while the static cooling system and lack of forced-air fans reduce the need for clearance around the unit.
Cleaning involves wiping the stainless-steel exposition area and worktop with a damp cloth, and the hinged back doors allow access to the storage chamber for thorough cleaning. The straight front glass pane can be removed for deeper cleaning, and the LED lamps are easily replaced if needed. The condenser outlet should be checked periodically to ensure it remains clear.
The PICO 1.96 is part of the PICO series, which includes internal and external corner units for building custom display lines. The showcase is categorised under refrigerated display cases in the IGLOO professional catering equipment range.
