IGLOO Showcase BALI 1.0 for Chilled Display

A ventilated chilled showcase keeps perishable food at a steady low temperature by circulating cold air across every shelf. A fan draws warm air over an evaporator coil filled with refrigerant; the coil absorbs the heat and the cooled air is pushed back into the cabinet. This dynamic flow prevents hot spots and keeps the display evenly chilled without freezing the product, so salads, desserts and ready-to-eat dishes stay fresh and safe while remaining clearly visible to customers.

The operator loads the shelves from the front, adjusting the height and angle of each shelf to fit different containers. Once the unit is plugged in and the electronic controller set between +1 °C and +10 °C, the refrigeration cycle starts automatically. The digital display shows the current temperature, and an alarm sounds if the condenser becomes blocked or the fan fails. At night, a roller blind covers the glass to reduce energy use while the unit continues to run. Automatic defrost cycles remove ice from the coil without manual intervention, so the showcase stays frost-free and maintains consistent cooling.

The cabinet is built on a painted-steel base and front panel, with a top panel that houses LED lighting. The sides and door are double-glazed with insulated plastic edges to minimise condensation and heat transfer. Inside, the walls and shelves are steel finished in a choice of colours, and the ceiling light can be set to white, confectionery or deep-pink tones to highlight different types of food. Eco-friendly polyurethane foam fills the cavity for thermal insulation, and the entire unit stands on adjustable feet to level it on uneven floors.

An energy consumption of 10.5 kWh per 24 hours reflects the load of the compressor, fan and lighting running continuously to maintain the set temperature. The 230 V single-phase supply matches standard UK commercial circuits, and the 150 kg weight indicates that two people are needed to move the unit safely. The footprint of 1020 mm wide by 730 mm deep fits most worktop runs, while the 2020 mm height allows full visibility of the top shelves without stooping.

Cleaning involves wiping the painted steel panels and plastic edges with a damp cloth, removing the shelves to wash them separately, and vacuuming the condenser coil at the rear to keep airflow unobstructed. The LED lamps rarely need replacement, and the automatic defrost system eliminates manual ice scraping. Colour options for the steel panels, glass edges, price strips and bumper follow the BHS palette, letting the showcase match existing shop decor.
