A ventilated chilled showcase keeps prepared food and confectionery at serving temperature while presenting them through clear glass. The internal cooling unit circulates cold air evenly across every shelf, preventing warm spots and ice build-up. Dynamic cooling also recovers temperature quickly after the door is opened, so the display stays within the set range without manual intervention.

The operator loads the shelves with trays or plates, sets the desired temperature on the electronic controller, and closes the roller blind overnight. The unit defrosts automatically, removing excess moisture without interrupting service. LED lighting in the top panel and ceiling lamp highlights the products in white, confectionery or deep-pink tones, while the adjustable shelves tilt or level to suit different heights of food.

The cabinet is built on a painted-steel base and front panel, with insulated plastic edges and double-glazed glass that reduce heat transfer. Eco-friendly polyurethane foam fills the walls for thermal efficiency. Interior and display shelves are steel with a coloured coating, and the bumper and price strips match the chosen colour scheme from the BHS palette. A digital display on the electronic controller shows the current temperature, and an alarm sounds if the condenser becomes dirty or the fan fails.

The 230 V, 50 Hz supply connects to a standard single-phase circuit, and the 25.4 kWh consumption over 24 hours reflects the load on the kitchen's refrigeration system. At 210 kg and 2560 mm long, the unit requires a stable worktop or floor space and is moved with a pallet truck or trolley. The temperature range of +1 °C to +10 °C suits chilled desserts, salads, sandwiches and other ready-to-eat items that must remain above freezing.

Cleaning involves wiping the glass, shelves and interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and checking the condenser for dust every month. The roller blind is removed for thorough cleaning, and the LED lamps are replaced when they dim. Colour options for the steel panels, plastic edges, glass trim, shelves and lighting follow the BHS palette, allowing the showcase to match the kitchen's décor.
