IGLOO Showcase RODOS 1.9 REMOTE for Chilled Display

A ventilated chilled showcase keeps perishable food at a steady 2 to 8 °C while it is on display for customers. Instead of a built-in compressor, the RODOS 1.9 REMOTE draws its cooling from an external condensing unit placed outside the sales area. This arrangement removes heat and noise from the shop floor, leaving only the insulated cabinet where the food is stored and presented.

Cool air is circulated by fans behind the rear panel, creating an even curtain of chilled air that drops from the top of the cabinet and is drawn back in at the base. The flow is continuous, so every shelf receives the same temperature without cold spots or warm zones. Because the air moves, it also carries away moisture that would otherwise condense on the glass or the food, keeping the display clear and the products looking fresh.

To load the showcase, the operator raises the night blind, unlocks the sliding front glass and sets it aside. Each coated-steel shelf can be lifted out, adjusted in height and tilted to the best angle for the items being displayed. Once the food is arranged, the glass is closed and locked, the night blind is lowered, and the electronic regulator is set to the desired temperature between 2 and 8 °C. The digital display shows the current reading, and the automatic defrost cycle runs without further intervention, melting any ice that forms on the evaporator coils.

The cabinet is built on a coloured base and front panel, both chosen to match the shop's decor. Insulated plastic edges frame the triple-glazed front and sides, reducing condensation and heat gain. The upper panel houses LED lighting that can be specified in different colours; the internal daylight LEDs are also available in various shades to highlight the products. Environmentally friendly polyurethane foam fills the walls and door, improving insulation without using substances that harm the ozone layer.

Shelves, price strips, bumpers and night blinds are all offered in a range of colours, allowing the unit to be coordinated with the shop's colour scheme. The 1840 mm width provides a large display area without taking up excessive floor space, while the 230 V, 50 Hz supply plugs into a standard single-phase circuit found in most commercial premises.

Cleaning is straightforward: the shelves and price strips lift out, the glass slides away, and the interior surfaces can be wiped down with a damp cloth. The automatic defrost system eliminates the need to manually defrost the coils, and the smooth surfaces of the coated steel and plastic edges prevent dirt from accumulating.
