A refrigerated display case keeps prepared food chilled while making it visible to customers. Cold air is drawn from the unit, circulated by fans across the evaporator coil, then pushed back into the cabinet. This dynamic cooling maintains an even temperature throughout, preventing warm spots that could spoil food. The external refrigeration unit removes the heat and noise from the sales area, allowing the case to be installed anywhere without disrupting the kitchen or front-of-house environment.

The operator loads the shelves with plated dishes, salads, desserts or pre-packaged items. Adjustable-height shelves and angled display surfaces let each item be presented at the best viewing angle. Night roller blinds are pulled down to cover the glass when the shop closes, reducing energy use and protecting the contents. LED lighting above the shelves switches on automatically, illuminating the food without adding heat. An electronic temperature regulator with a digital display lets the operator set the desired temperature between +1 °C and +10 °C, ensuring compliance with food-safety regulations.

The case is built on a stainless-steel base plinth with a floor seal to prevent moisture ingress. The front and base panels are made of white-coated steel, while the interior and exhibition shelves use coated steel available in various colours. Ecological polyurethane foam insulation fills the walls, reducing heat transfer and keeping the interior cold. A mechanical expansion valve controls refrigerant flow, and a siphoned condensate drain with a 40 mm connecting pipe carries away melted ice and condensation. The refrigerant system is compatible with several agents, including R507, R448, R449 and R744, allowing the unit to be serviced with the most environmentally friendly option available.

A footprint of 1250 mm wide by 900 mm deep fits into most counter layouts, while the 1560 mm height allows items to be stacked without blocking sightlines. The 230 V, 50 Hz voltage requirement matches standard UK commercial circuits, so no special wiring is needed. The external refrigeration unit can be placed up to several metres away, freeing up space beneath the counter for storage or additional equipment.

Cleaning involves wiping the coated-steel shelves and interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The night blinds should be rolled up and cleaned weekly to prevent dust build-up. The condensate drain must be checked monthly to ensure it is clear, and the LED lighting should be inspected for any burnt-out bulbs. The external unit requires annual servicing by a qualified technician to maintain efficiency and refrigerant levels.
