IGLOO Showcase TOBAGO 2/3.75 Remote Refrigerated Display Case

A refrigerated display case keeps prepared food chilled while presenting it to customers under bright, even lighting. The external remote unit circulates cooled refrigerant through a closed loop into the case, where a fan draws warm air over the evaporator coil. Heat transfers from the air to the refrigerant, lowering the temperature inside the case without introducing outside air or humidity. This dynamic cooling method maintains a steady temperature across every shelf, preventing hot spots that could spoil food or create condensation on the glass front.

The operator loads the shelves from the rear worktop, arranging products so they face the customer through the curved glass. Each shelf adjusts in height and angle to suit different package sizes, and price strips clip into place beneath them. At the end of service, a night roller blind covers the glass to reduce energy use. The electronic regulator displays the current temperature on a digital panel, allowing staff to check and adjust the set point between +1 °C and +10 °C. A siphoned condensate drain collects melted ice and directs it to a waste pipe, preventing water from pooling inside the case.

The case stands on a stainless steel plinth sealed to the floor, protecting the base from spills. The exterior panels are white coated steel, while the interior and shelves are coated steel available in various colours. Ecological polyurethane foam fills the walls, floor and ceiling, insulating the case and reducing the load on the refrigeration system. Overhead LED lighting illuminates the display area, and the power factor correction ensures the lighting circuit does not overload the electrical supply.

The unit requires a 230 V, 50 Hz single-phase supply, matching the standard circuit used in professional kitchens and retail spaces. Its footprint of 3750 mm long by 900 mm deep fits along a wall or island counter, while the 1560 mm height allows customers to view products without bending. The remote refrigeration unit allows multiple cases to connect to a single condenser, saving space and simplifying maintenance.

Cleaning involves wiping the coated steel shelves and interior with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then drying them to prevent water marks. The glass front and LED lights are cleaned with a glass cleaner, avoiding abrasive pads that could scratch the surface. The condensate drain should be checked periodically to ensure it remains clear of debris. The night blind is rolled up and secured during service, then lowered at closing to cover the display area.
