IGLOO SUMBA 1.0 REMOTE refrigerated display showcase

A refrigerated display showcase keeps chilled food visible while maintaining safe holding temperatures. The unit circulates cold air from an external remote aggregate through static evaporators inside the cabinet. This method avoids the noise and heat of an internal compressor, making the showcase quieter and more comfortable for staff and customers. The evaporators draw heat from the stored items, lowering their temperature to the set range without freezing. Cold air settles at the base of the cabinet and rises as it warms, creating a gentle, consistent flow that keeps every shelf evenly chilled.

The operator loads the stainless-steel exposition area with pre-chilled products, arranging them for customer view. The sliding rear door of the storage chamber allows restocking from the service side without interrupting the display. An electronic temperature controller with a digital display lets the operator set the desired holding range and monitor the internal temperature. Once the showcase is powered, the automatic defrost cycle prevents ice build-up on the evaporators, maintaining efficient cooling without manual intervention. The straight front glass pane can be slightly opened for cleaning, while a night blind made of plexiglass rolls down to cover the display when the shop closes, reducing energy use and protecting the contents.

The SUMBA 1.0 REMOTE is built on a white-coated steel frame with a service-side base flashing. The body is insulated with ecological polyurethane foam, and the worktop is 20 mm grey granite. Internal aluminium profiles are anodised in either silver or gold, and the LED lamp offers a choice of white, confectionery or pink light to highlight the displayed items. The unit measures 980 mm wide, 895 mm deep and 1260 mm high, with an additional 10 mm allowance for installation. It operates on a 230 V, 50 Hz supply, drawing power only for lighting, defrost and the electronic controller, while the cooling is handled by the external aggregate.

The static cooling system and external aggregate mean the showcase requires no internal moving parts beyond the evaporator fans, reducing maintenance. The stainless-steel exposition area and coated steel storage chamber are wiped clean daily, while the glass front and worktop are kept clear of fingerprints and spills. The night blind is rolled up and down as part of the opening and closing routine, and the LED lamp is checked periodically to ensure even illumination. The electronic controller's digital display allows quick temperature checks without opening the cabinet.

The SUMBA REMOTE series includes internal and external corner modules, allowing the showcase to be configured in continuous lines to fit the layout of the premises. The 1.0 module is the standard straight unit, with a hinged rear door for the storage compartment.
