Confectionery showcase Carmella 1345 mm, Temp. range +4 / +10°C
A refrigerated confectionery showcase keeps delicate pastries, chocolates and cakes at a steady cool temperature while displaying them through clear glass. The unit circulates chilled air behind the shelves, drawing heat away from the food and maintaining an even climate that prevents condensation on the glass and preserves texture. R290 refrigerant, used here, is a hydrocarbon that absorbs heat efficiently and has a low environmental impact, making it suitable for professional kitchens that need reliable cooling without high energy use.
The operator loads the shelves from the rear, sliding open the double-glazed doors to arrange trays of confections. Once the doors are closed, the forced-cooling system starts automatically, keeping the interior between +4 and +10 °C. LED lighting illuminates the contents from above, casting an even glow that highlights colours and details without adding heat. The temperature remains constant as long as the unit is powered, so the showcase can run unattended during service.
The glass shelves are fixed in place, providing a stable surface for trays and stands. Side and front panels are double-glazed, with serigraphy available in golden, silver or black; corner serigraphy is limited to golden or silver. The finish of the casing matches the serigraphy, allowing the unit to blend with different shop interiors.
Controls are minimal: the cooling system runs continuously once the unit is plugged in, and the LED lighting is either on or off. The temperature range of +4 to +10 °C is chosen to keep confectionery fresh without freezing, which would alter texture and appearance. The 280 kg weight means the showcase is moved on a trolley or pallet jack, and the 1345 mm width requires a dedicated space on the shop floor or counter.
Cleaning involves wiping the glass panels and shelves with a damp cloth and mild detergent, taking care not to scratch the serigraphy. The wooden casing should be dusted regularly and polished with a suitable wood cleaner. The forced-cooling system has no user-serviceable parts, so maintenance is limited to keeping the exterior and interior surfaces clean.
Three versions are available: refrigerated (CH), hot (GR) and neutral (NE). The refrigerated version is described here; the hot version omits LED lighting and uses a heating element instead of cooling, while the neutral version provides display space without temperature control.
