LF Filter Locking Spring for Espresso Machines

A filter locking spring holds the portafilter basket firmly against the group head of an espresso machine. Without it, the basket can shift under the pressure of the brewing water, causing uneven extraction and grounds to escape around the edges. The spring sits in a groove or recess on the portafilter, compressing slightly when the handle is locked into place and releasing tension when the handle is turned free.

To use the spring, the operator places it into the designated groove on the portafilter. The portafilter is then filled with ground coffee and locked into the group head. The spring compresses as the handle is turned, securing the basket tightly against the group head. Once brewing is complete, the handle is turned in the opposite direction, releasing the tension and allowing the portafilter to be removed.

The spring is made of stainless steel and measures 1.40 mm in diameter. Stainless steel resists corrosion from water and coffee oils, maintaining its tension over repeated use.

This spring fits a range of professional espresso machines, including models from Cimbali and Scala. For Cimbali, it is compatible with the M20, M21, M24, M25, M27, M28, M29, M30, M31, M32, and M39-GT series. For Scala, it fits the Butterfly, Eroica, and Iris models.
