LF Gasket Filterholder for ASTORIA CMA & WEGA Coffee Machines

A gasket filterholder creates a tight seal between the portafilter and the group head of a commercial coffee machine. It sits inside the portafilter basket, compressing against the machine's shower screen to prevent water bypassing the coffee puck. Without a properly seated gasket, pressure drops, extraction weakens and grounds can escape, leading to uneven brewing and potential machine damage.

The operator places the gasket into the portafilter basket before dosing ground coffee. Once the basket is filled and tamped, the portafilter locks into the group head. The gasket compresses, sealing the assembly so that hot water is forced through the coffee rather than around it. After extraction, the portafilter is removed and the gasket stays in place until the next use or until cleaning.

This gasket filterholder is moulded to the exact dimensions required by the specified ASTORIA CMA and WEGA models. Its shape and thickness ensure consistent compression across the entire circumference, maintaining the correct brewing pressure without distorting the portafilter basket.

Cleaning follows the same routine as the portafilter itself. After each service, the gasket is rinsed under hot water to remove coffee oils and residue. Periodically it is soaked in a mild detergent solution to dissolve built-up oils that can harden and reduce elasticity. Regular inspection for cracks or permanent deformation ensures the seal remains effective and prevents grounds from migrating into the machine's internal waterways.
