Halogen lamps generate bright, instant light by passing an electric current through a thin tungsten filament enclosed in a small quartz bulb filled with halogen gas. The gas recycles evaporated tungsten back onto the filament, extending the lamp's life and maintaining consistent brightness.
To replace the lamp, the oven must be switched off and unplugged. The operator removes the protective cover or glass panel inside the oven cavity, unscrews the old lamp, and fits the new G4 halogen lamp into the socket. The cover is then replaced before the oven is powered back on. The lamp illuminates automatically when the oven door is opened or during operation, providing a clear view of the food without affecting the cooking temperature.
It operates at 12 V and draws 10 W, matching the low-voltage circuits used in professional ovens. The quartz bulb withstands temperatures up to 250 °C, allowing it to function reliably in the high-heat environment of a convection or electric oven.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the outer surface with a dry cloth once the lamp has cooled. No liquid cleaners or abrasives should be used, as these can damage the quartz or the electrical contacts. The lamp is a direct replacement for existing G4 halogen lamps in the listed models and requires no additional components or adjustments.
This LF halogen lamp fits a wide range of Eloma, Fagor, GBG, and Zanussi professional ovens, including convection, electric, and combination models. It is categorised under oven lamps and spares in the professional catering equipment catalogue.
