A cable gland creates a watertight seal where a power cable enters an appliance. It grips the cable sheath, compresses a rubber seal around it, and locks the assembly into a threaded hole in the casing. This stops water, steam and cleaning chemicals from reaching the electrical terminals inside, which would cause short circuits or corrosion.
The operator fits the gland by passing the cable through the gland body, sliding the rubber seal and compression nut onto the cable, then screwing the gland into the appliance's entry point. The nut is tightened until the seal is visibly compressed, ensuring no gap remains. Once installed, the gland remains in place for the life of the cable, requiring no further adjustment unless the cable is replaced.
This LF M25 cable gland is constructed to match the threaded entry points on HOBART dishwashers and glasswashers. It fits the BarAid, ECOMAX, FP, FX, GX, CARE, ECO-G and ECOMAX-PLUS series listed in the HOBART catalogue, securing the power supply against the moisture and heat of a working kitchen.
Cleaning is limited to wiping the external surface with a damp cloth; no disassembly is needed. The gland is a single-use component when the cable is changed, as the rubber seal deforms permanently during installation to maintain its watertight integrity.
